Benefits of PVC Deck over Wood Deck
Question: “What are the benefits of using a PVC Deck Board rather than wood?”
Daryl Ellis explains that “The main benefit to doing a PVC deck board instead of a wood deck board would be the lack of maintenance needed for the PVC. Once you install it you really don’t have anything to worry about other than cleaning it off if something was to spill on it but with the wood deck board, you’re gonna have to worry about it splitting and cracking and fading over time. You’re also gonna have to stain it or as a PVC you pick the color you like and that’s it you don’t have to worry about it. “
There are many benefits that a PVC board provides when compared to a wood board. PVC board is the most useful, durable material which is highly resistant to moisture, insects, dents, and flames, making it the best choice for decks.

Daryl Ellis continues as he states “Another benefit would be in the long run PVC deck board is gonna hold that color and still look brand-new in 10, 15, 20 years whereas a wood deck if the weather is pretty bad and will have to be resealed or re-stain down the road. At the end of the day if you want to enjoy your deck once it’s installed you don’t want to have to work for your deck.”
Fiberglass or Vinyl Pool?
Question: “Are Fiberglass Pools better than Vinyl?”
Fiberglass Pools offer a great number of advantages when compared to vinyl pools. Fiberglass comes with great benefits as it’s easier and quicker. Daryl Ellis an expert from M.E. Contracting states that “The benefits of a Fiber Glass Pool versus a Vinyl Pool would be that Fiberglass Pools are relatively easy to install once you get the whole dock and get the grading to finish all you have to do is lift the pool over the house of the crane, drop it in the hole, start to back-fill and then we will start working around it. They also come with a lot of built-in features at vinyl pools wouldn’t come with like Hot tubs, benches built-in steps, splash pads, and things that you can get if you want to go with the concrete pool. However, it costs significantly more, and maintenance-wise the fiberglass pool it’s also significantly less than the other styles. The gel coat on the fibrous pools is less porous and therefore algae have a chance of growth.”
